Special Needs

At Lake Pointe, we believe that all individuals should have the opportunity to attend church with their families and worship God.  We are continuously working to remove the obstacles that often stand in the way of that goal being achieved by families with special need children and adults.  It is our goal to provide a safe and loving environment for every individual in order to reach each and every child’s heart.

R.E.A.C.H. Ministries
  • Reaching
  • Each
  • And Every
  • Child’s
  • Heart

Purpose:
Reaching each and every child’s heart through the love of Christ.

Goals:
Assess the needs of children with any type of challenge to determine the most appropriate curriculum and environment in which to teach the child. Additionally, to model Christ likeness to these families by providing them with much needed resources.

Children's Bible Study Classes

We have designated a class specifically for children whose needs are best met in a small group setting or who need one on one care.  The class is available at 6:00 pm and 7:15 pm on Saturday night and 9:30 am and 11:00 am on Sunday.  We have a wonderful group of volunteers that work very hard in making each child feel safe and loved.  Activities can include a Bible Story, structured time in our indoor playground or our sensory lab, use of the computer lab, snacks and other fun activities.  The closest wheelchair accessibility is available at the South East side of the building.  A covered drop off is located at the Southern most entrance to the church, near the fish pond.

We try to include children with special needs in a traditional classroom with a volunteer, when possible.  If you feel your child’s needs would best be met in a traditional classroom setting, every attempt will be made to provide a volunteer.

R.E.A.C.H. Parent Workshops

Lake Pointe has recognized the need for support for parents of children with special needs. We are partnering with experts in the area to offer an opportunity for parents to come together for support and to gain insight into the needs of their children.

Typically we meet the first Tuesday of each month in room W222, however times and dates may vary. For a complete list of dates and speakers, click on our Workshop Calendar

We will offer child care for ages 6 months to 13 years old by registration only.
